Four churches

After a dull start today it brightened up. After lunch I went out. A few miles south of Kirton in Lindsey are four villages in a straight line. I will go and have a bimble around those. They all have a church, sadly none of them were open. This one is St Radegund  at Grayingham. It's a grade 2 listed Anglican church. originating from the 13th and 14th century. There is more info about it here.
Next we have the Church of St Alkmund at Blyborough. This is the view from the road. It does look rather uncared for. The gate is missing and the posts are rotten.
The view of the front door looks a bit better, but the churchyard is not particularly tidy. Behind it is Blyborough Grange. Couldn't get a look at that, it has a gated yard. There is more info here.
Next onto Willoughton. This is St Andrews Church. It was restored in 1888 and is Georgian style. There is more info here.
This is The Stirrup Inn at Willoughton. Not open when I passed.
Still in Willoughton, The Primitive Methodist Chapel. Built in 1866. Wiki says it's been converted to apartments, but when I looked through the windows it's empty. It's a shame if it goes into disrepair, the front is very attractive.
And the last church is at Hemswell. The sun was starting to go down as I had a look at All Saints Church. This was partially rebuilt in the 13th century when a new tower was added. There is more info here.

Here is some more info about Hemswell.
That was a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon. Let's hope we have some more sunshine.

Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona
