A post for petrolheads.

Good morning. I was hoping to get this post out last night, but after editing the photographs I was too tired to complete the task. And so I went to bed. Now I am recovered so let's do it.
I did an Aldi shop yesterday, a bit earlier than normal. It was a lovely afternoon and evening, so a walk across the Humber Bridge and back was planned. Park underneath it on the South Bank, and take the steps up to the top. A view of the Old Tileworks and garden centre.
The tide was on it's way back in. A sign that it's safe for boats to travel upstream to unload at the docks.
There are changes coming with the way motorists will pay to cross the bridge. New updated tollbooths have been installed.
So why did I walk across the bridge? To have a look at the classic cars meet up on the car park. As usual I took too many photographs. I love the way the owners have all put their mark on their pride and joy. So many hours of dedicated polishing. Some of them lifting the bonnet to expose the pristine engine compartments. Who remembers some of these old names? Some of them had a For Sale notice in the windscreen. I wish.
If there aren't enough photo's here you could take a look at this post from September last year, at a meet up of the East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club.

I think this poor man must have got caught up in a massive tailback on the M62. 😁

A distorted reflection on an open car bonnet.

A little Morris 1000. The car I was practising in when I was learning to drive.

Classic cars are a thing of beauty. How come modern cars are so ugly. I wonder if something like this will one day become a classic collectors item.
It's looking like it could be a sunny weekend here in North Lincolnshire. I hope you have got something planned. Make it a good one.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona
